Welcome to all new and previous members. Once again, you and your family can enjoy the Club’s friendly atmosphere each Saturday morning for races and at other special events.

This year, join us as we celebrate our Golden Jubilee, 50 Years of swimming in the Castlereagh District.

Please refer to the centre pages of the log book for the schedule of Saturday morning races and special events. Club championship races are also listed – the first group in November / December, the second group in February / March. Please note entry closing dates. There are no Saturday races on 26 December 2009 and 2 January 2010. The club season finishes on 20 March 2010.

Dates to remember:

• Club Championships: 14 November to 19 December 2009 & 6 February to 13 March 2009.
• Family Relay – 16 January 2010. (At least 2 members of the same family). Trophy awarded.
• Swimathon 30 minutes – very popular event – 30 January 2010 to help raise funds for the club.
• Open Carnival – tba. EESC hosts a carnival which is open to other clubs.
• Presentation day and AGM 2 May 2010.

The Club encourages all swimmers to enter external carnivals. Mini Meets and Castlereagh carnivals are an excellent opportunity to gain some race practice and represent your Club. There is also opportunity to be nominated for the Castlereagh Development squads. Please speak to the Club Secretary and information is available on the ’NSW Swimming’ web page.

Regular Club Newsletters will keep you up to date on achievements and activities. Please see the Publicity Officer if you have any news / comments etc for the Club’s Newsletter.

This season we have a new start time of 8:00, and will be using all 6 lanes. As we will be racing for a shorter time, until 9:30, I encourage you to arrive at 7:45 to help in getting things set up so that we can get the racing under way at 8:00.
